Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a fractional CFO and my bookkeeper or accountant?
Your bookkeeper and accountant keep your books accurate and your taxes compliant — essential work, but backward-looking. A fractional CFO looks forward: turning your numbers into cash flow forecasts, growth plans, and the financial insight you need to make confident decisions. Many of our clients keep their existing bookkeeper or accountant and add us as the strategic layer on top.

Isn't my business too small for this kind of support?
No. We work with businesses at every stage, from early and pre-revenue companies building their first financial foundation to larger, more complex organizations preparing for financing, acquisition, or exit. If you're making real decisions about your business, you can benefit from real financial guidance.

How much does this cost?
Every engagement is scoped around the complexity of your business, so there's no fixed price list. After an initial conversation about where your business stands and what you need, we'll put together a proposal tailored to your situation — not a one-size-fits-all rate.

How much time will this take from me and my team?
Very little on your end. We do the heavy lifting — building the models, tracking the numbers, preparing the analysis — and bring it to you in a clear, digestible format during regular check-ins. Most clients spend an hour or two a month directly engaging with us.

What happens after I reach out?
We'll follow up by email to understand a bit about your business, then set up a free introductory call to talk through what you're looking for and whether it's a fit. There's no pressure or obligation before that.

Is there a minimum commitment?
We generally recommend an initial minimum term so we have enough time to build a real financial foundation and show meaningful results — rushed engagements rarely do either of us justice. That said, we also work month-to-month when that's a better fit, so it's worth a conversation about what makes sense for your business.
